Hello and welcome to the Supawstars About Page! Here you’ll learn about Supawstars: specifically, what it is and how it came to be.
What Is Supawstars?
Supawstars is a website created to draw well-deserved eyeballs and attention to as many of the amazing pet blogs on the net as possible!
Whether you have a cat blog, dog blog, hamster blog – fish, guinea pig, rat, snake, bearded dragon – or any other kind of pet blog – you’re 110% welcome here!
How does Supawstars go about promoting pet bloggers? Using the Supawstars pet directory!
Here anybody with a pet blog, store, forum, YouTube channel, or any other pet related site, can submit to be listed. From those submissions (and some other digging I do on the web – though mostly from the submissions to the pet directory since, honestly, there are so many pet sites it’d be impossible to go through them all!), I put together pet top sites lists, and feature interesting pet blog posts from the past 24 hours on the Supawstar front page.
So if you want your pet blog or site to be promoted by Supawstars – all you have to do is submit your site to the pet directory! Yes, for you it’s that easy! I’ll take things from there. 🙂
How Supawstars Came To Be
I started the KittyClysm blog back in September 2016, and it didn’t take me long to absolutely fall in love with the cat blogger community, then the pet blogger community at large!
See, I’d run a slew of different blogs before KittyClysm. I have a tonne of different hobbies and interests, and I find it hard to resist the urge to start up a new blog when I start to obsess over/delve into a new thing! Nothing better to me than the feeling of starting up new project, researching a new topic, writing articles, taking pretty pictures, and publishing what interesting things I find for the world to see! You as a pet blogger I’m sure understand this feeling – this love of sharing! Either way – these days, I don’t try to fight the urge to start up new projects, I simply think of a blog name and set up shop!
When I stumbled on the pet community, it was sort of by accident. I actually *had* a pet blog before I started KittyClysm, a blog about my ball python named Havana (My Pet Python), way back in 2012. But I feel like I just didn’t reach out enough to other pet blogs when I had that blog, so it wasn’t until I started up KittyClysm that I discovered you guys.
I had resisted opening up a cat blog for a long time, years actually, even though I’d really wanted to! My thinking was that I only had one cat – like somehow just having one meant I wouldn’t have enough to talk about or something like that! Such a silly thing for me to think, looking back, but either way, once I did finally jump the gun, then started reading other pet bloggers’ posts on their sites – well down the rabbit hole I went, and I’ve never wanted to come out since!
The thing about the pet blogging community is – it’s special. I’ve experienced a lot of different types of blogging communities considering how many blogs I’ve had, and yet in all my time as a blogger, I’ve never felt as happy about being a part of a community as with the pet community.
Why? The pet community is:
- Extremely welcoming.
- So very friendly!
- Incredibly concerned with the well being of pets & the promotion of important information about pet health & care to pet owners – so much so that it’s downright inspiring!
You guys care so much about your pets, and that shines through your blog posts.
But of course it’s not only that. You also care so much about other people’s pets, and that passion about making sure everyone’s taking proper care of all the furries and non-furry little creatures that live under our roofs – it’s, like I said, inspiring.
You pet bloggers are truly helping the world become a better place. Whether it’s through sharing adorable stories about your pets and putting a smile on everyone who reads’ face, or whether you’re bringing awareness to shelters, or whether you’re spending your time writing up posts about the important health/pet care related thing you learned, so that other pet owners can be more educated – you’re doing a huge part in making pets’ lives better, and for that, you are all Supawstars!
